Bill Parcells Calls Rumored Patriots Drama 'Gossip and Conjecture'
A lot of people are worried that recent rumors of drama between New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady could mean the team’s dynasty is nearing its end.
Former Patriots head coach Bill Parcells isn’t one of them.
“I don’t pay any attention to that,” he recently told The Athletic. “You are just hearing gossip and conjecture and opinion. I don’t put much stock in that… The only thing you got to do is watch the product on the field. When the season starts, all this offseason stuff, it doesn’t mean anything. Nothing.”
Throughout last season, numerous stories surfaced about tension between Brady and Belichick, mostly stemming from Belichick’s decision to ban Brady’s trainer and business partner, Alex Guerrero, from the sidelines during games.
But Parcells told The Athletic he thinks the Patriots dynasty has at least a few years left.
“I don’t see anybody right now in their division that I would say has the upper hand on them, that’s for sure,” he said.
