While in theory unexpectedly bumping into a celebrity might be very exciting, a new Twitter thread is proving many celebs are just like us and can be found in the dullest of situations.

When Twitter user John Moe asked for people’s “most boring, mundane, inconsequential celebrity encounter” he was not short on replies.

From Martin Freeman to Will Ferrell, here are some of the best and most wild, sorry mild, encounters.

“I talked to Martin Freeman for about 15 minutes in a queue in the dry cleaners because i recognised him and thought he played hockey with my brother. He chatted the whole time and never once let on who he was,” Laura Sheperd-Robinson.

Akilah Hughes described how she helped an unnamed Backstreet Boys star out of a tricky situation.

Even Big Sick star Kumail Nanjiani had his own encounter, describing how Will Ferrell offered directions. “They were correct,” he added.

And Josh Groban won them all with this anecdote from his own bedroom.
