Kanye West Shared “Lift Yourself” But It Was Just a Troll
Following a wild week on Twitter, Kanye West has given fans a new track called “Lift Yourself.”
The rapper announced the record via social media, linking to his official website.
But unfortunately, it looks like it was all just a troll. At least we hope it was.
The bulk of the record features a women’s voice singing, “Lift yourself up on your feet, let’s get it on/Hard to see, the hangups we have today.” Ye then comes in with less than a minute left, and delivers one the most bizarre verses we’ve ever heard from him: “What they don’t really realize though, is this next verse, this next verse though, these bars: Woopdity scoop, scoopity woop, woop-de scoop-de-poop, poopty scoopty, scoopty woopty” and so on.
Check it out below.
Kanye teased the track earlier in the day, claiming it would “bring Ebro (Darden) the closure he’s been seeking.”
I’m going to drop a song with a verse that will bring Ebro the closure he’s been seeking

Though it wasn’t what fans were expecting, “Lift Yourself” marks Ye’s first solo record since 2016. The rapper is gearing up to release a seven-track album on June 1 as well as a joint project with Kid Cudi on June 8. Fans have yet to hear any material from the upcoming albums; however, Charlamagne tha God recently described the project as “real shit.”
“I think it’s similar to, like, ‘socially conscious’ Ye—’message’ Ye,” Charlamagne said during a recent Brilliant Idiots podcast. “[…] You know, like on Pablo he had like ‘Real Friends’; that shit was about something. It was about fake friends and who you’re real friends are. He’s on that vibe. He’s talking about real shit. Not to saying he don’t always rap about real shit.”
Judging by Charlamagne’s description, it’s safe to say “Lift Yourself” will not appear on the highly anticipated album.
