Kanye West and John Legend 'Lead With Love' at Chrissy Teigen's Baby Shower After Political Disagreement
No bad blood here!
Kanye West and John Legend appeared to put their political beef behind them as they reunited for Chrissy Teigen’s baby shower in Los Angeles on Friday night. The pair’s disagreements made it to Twitter when West posted a screenshot of text messages from Legend, who urged him to reconsider his support for President Donald Trump after the rapper’s controversial tweets earlier this week.
It was seemingly all water under the bridge at Teigen’s star-studded baby shower, however, as the two posed for a smiling selfie together. “We got love. Agree to disagree,” West captioned the pic on Twitter. “Lead with love,” he wrote alongside a video of of Legend playing his hit “Ordinary People” on the piano, as Teigen and Kim Kardashian looked on.

West and Legend were also seen jamming out to West’s new song, “Ye vs. the People,” which dropped on L.A.’s Power 106 radio station Friday night. The song, featuring rapper T.I., shows West defending his recent political Twitter rants, while T.I. represents the blowback from his fans and famous friends.
Legend’s text to West on Thursday begged the rapper not to let his support of Trump become part of his “legacy.”
“I hope you’ll reconsider aligning yourself with Trump. You’re way too influential and powerful to endorse who he is and what he stands for. As you know, what you say really means something to your fans. They are loyal to you and respect your opinion. So many people who love you feel so betrayed right now because they know the harm that Trump’s policies cause, especially to people of color,” he wrote. “Don’t let this be part of your legacy. You’re the greatest artist of our generation.”
“I tweeted the John text to show that there are people around me that disagree with me and voice their opinion,” West explained on Twitter. “I respect everyone’s opinion but I stand my ground. If you feel something don’t let peer pressure manipulate you.”
“I really appreciate this dialogue with John Legend because I’m actually very empathetic,” he added. “I’m still the kid from the telethon. I feel when people think of MAGA they don’t think of empathy. This is year one. We can’t ad empathy to MAGA by hating. We can only ad empathy with love and time and truly hearing all sides.”
