Erdoğan slams opposition leader over celebrity remarks
AYDIN – Anadolu Agency
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on April 7 criticized remarks by the main opposition party leader blaming celebrities for being on the wrong side.
Speaking at a congress in the Aegean province of Aydın, Erdoğan said that Republican People’s Party (CHP) Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu does not support Turkish soldiers.
“According to Kilicdaroglu’s mentality, our celebrities should take sides with terrorists, not our soldiers,” he said, referring to Kılıçdaroğlu.
Earlier this week, Kılıçdaroğlu criticized celebrities who accompanied Erdoğan on his visit to a military outpost in southern Hatay province, on the border with Syria.
Erdoğan added that Kılıçdaroğlu’s political career will end in November 2019, referring to the presidential election.
‘France abetting terrorists by hosting them at Elysee’
Erdoğan on April 7 accused France of abetting terrorists by “hosting them” at the Elysee Palace, amid a diplomatic row between the NATO allies over Paris’s support for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
“France is abetting terrorists by hosting them at the presidential palace… as long as you nurture these terrorists, the West will drown,” Erdoğan told his supporters in the southwestern province of Denizli.
