Stormy Daniels' '60 Minutes' Interview Draws More Viewers Than Trump's

If you missed the big Stormy Daniels interview on 60 Minutes last night, well, you’re in the minority on that one. Early Nielsen projections state that approximately 22.06 million people tuned into CBS on Sunday, making it the week’s #1 program.

The numbers were the best the news magazine show has seen in almost a decade, including some of the best demos they’ve attracted in over two years, reaching a much younger audience than usual with this must-watch segment.

Per a CBS press release, last night’s episode drew its largest audience since November 2008. In fact, the last time 60 Minutes drew the eyeballs of over 20 million people included the Jan. 17, 2016 edition, where Sean Penn discussed his meeting with Mexican drug lord “el Chapo” (20.62 million), as well as the first interview with Donald Trump and his family after the election on Nov. 13, 2016 (20 million). That means over 2 million more people tuned in to hear Daniels describe her affair with him.

While most people tuned in to see what Daniels had to say for the first time on TV about their night together and the subsequent incidents that have shaped her life since then, including being threatened in a parking lot and not quite obtaining a seat on Celebrity Apprentice, the program also kept NCAA basketball viewers watching with a feature on Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
