What's a Restaurant Guaranteed to Impress My Fashion Industry Boss?

Hey Eater,
I’m trying to impress my fashion industry boss with a suggestion for aright-now restaurantthat would also work for a client dinner — kind of fancy but also cool. Ideally, it will also be pretty busy so that my boss doesn’t think I’ve sent her to a dud. It doesn’t have to the newest, but should be somewhat flashy. Any tips?

Hi there FE,
This one’s a no-brainer: Legacy Records is the perfect storm here. It’s the new Hudson Yards restaurant from the owners of Charlie Bird and Pasquale Jones downtown. The food isn’t mind-blowing — though it’s solid — but that’s not what matters here.
In this case, Ken Fulk is the key. He’s who designed the very cool space, and he’s known in the design and fashion worlds as the go-to guy for a haute restaurant look. Vogue doesn’t do a ton of restaurant coverage, and the magazine wrote about this opening. Fulk’s point of view is opulent and sometimes wacky, which is in full display here.
Royal emerald green, smooth marble, luxe gold, and rich mahogany run through the rooms, full of art from up-and-coming artists. The playlist is set to hip hop, adding very playful, young vibes throughout. And the clientele here is ultra-cool — the new Glamour editor-in-chief held her announcement party upstairs.
Yeah, it’s a bit far west, but I’m guessing your boss has a black car, so no big deal.
