Kimberly’s empty Pick ‘n Save building was sold Tuesday.
It will become half indoor self-storage and half antique mall.
Its new owners, a father/daughter team, are based in Wisconsin Rapids and have a similar split business in a former Copps grocery store in Stevens Point.
“Kimberly is a good fit for us. We love the community,” said Jaime White, who manages Antique Up, the antique mall side.
“We liked the idea of having an antique mall here. It adds life to the building with vendors and customers coming in and out. It will have a mix of vintage, collectibles, repurposed, treasured and handcrafted things. No clothing.”
Her father, David Ramsden, has owned the Storage Unlimited indoor storage business since 1985.
He bought Kimberly Plaza at 850 E. Maes Ave., for $1.275 million, a bit more than the asking price, to outbid another potential buyer, a moving truck company.
The site includes Pick ‘n Save and a retail strip mall on its east side, which will continue to have other tenants.
White said they’ll clean up and convert the 45,000-square-foot grocery store space over the next three months for their businesses. They hope to open mid-July.
