Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have gone in different directions.
The former boy bander and his supermodel girlfriend announced Tuesday they’ve split after more than two years together.
Zayn, 25, addressed the break-up on Twitter and praised his former flame, 22, as an “incredible soul.”
“Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and friend,” he wrote.

“She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time, we wish this news could have come from us first.”
Hadid also took to Twitter to confirm the split, and said she will be “forever grateful” for the time she spent with the “Pillowtalk” singer.

“Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years…not only in a relationship, but in life in general,” she wrote.
“I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for.”

The former power couple’s break-up was first reported by British tabloid The Sun.
“The reality is that they’ve grown apart, having been together for a long time,” a source told the outlet. “They have crazy work schedules that would put pressure on any relationship.”

Zayn appeared to hint at trouble in paradise with a cryptic Instagram selfie Tuesday.
“When life throws you lemons, catch em so they don’t hit you in the f–king face,” he wrote.

The pair first started dating in November 2015, shortly after Hadid split from Joe Jonas.
Zayn recalled meeting the model at a Victoria’s Secret party to ES magazine, and said their first date was at the East Village haunt Gemma.
“She’s a very intelligent woman. She knows how to carry herself. She’s quite classy and that,” he gushed in November 2016. “She’s not like, arrogant in any way, she’s confident. She carries it well. She’s cool.”
Fans suspected Zayn may have permanently declared his love for Hadid when he debuted a new tattoo on his chest in January that looked just like her eyes.

One year prior, the couple sparked engagement rumors when Hadid was spotted rocking a gold band on her wedding finger. Zayn was previously engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.
The romance had cooled off from both stars’ Instagram feeds, as Hadid’s final snap with Zayn came Jan. 12 in celebration of his birthday.
“Love this man more than I could ever put into words, & am inspired by his drive to be and do better everyday,” she wrote. “Cheers to YOUR YEAR my @zayn — happiest happiest birthday & 25th year of life !! I’m proud to be by your side.”
Zayn had not shared a photo with Hadid since Nov. 1, when he posted a snap of the couple decked out in Halloween costumes.

The two were on the cover of Vogue in August for an article in which theyrevealed that they like to share clothes.
