Millstone Bierhuis, open since September, will serve food and drinks through Friday and then close.

A familiar restaurant is taking its building at 1727 Freedom Road in Little Chute: El Jaripeo.

“We sold the building,” said Millstone co-owner Matt Fronsee. “It was weird timing after the remodel and all, but I decided to take the opportunity.”

The Fronsee family renamed and redecorated the restaurant last fall. They previously operated it as The Main Event Steakhouse.

El Jaripeo owner Antonio Sandoval purchased the building for $1.15 million.

He’ll continue to operate El Jaripeo at 1821 E. Main St. in Little Chute. That restaurant has been open since 2006.

“From the time we opened in Little Chute to now, we’ve accumulated a lot of business. Customers asked why don’t we get a bigger building,” said Edgar Sandoval, Antonio’s son. “We decided to buy our own building and keep it in a close area. We wanted to have more space. We’ll have a full bar and more seating and a party room.”

Edgar Sandoval will be the manager of the new restaurant. He said they’ll begin remodeling after Millstone closes, and they hope to open in a month.

“We are not doing a lot. Just some painting and getting some new equipment,” he said.

Millstone will accept gift cards through Friday. When El Jaripeo opens, it will continue to honor Millstone gift cards at full value for about two months, Sandoval said.
