Rapper Juelz Santana reportedly took off running out of Newark Airport after Transportation Security Administration agents found a gun on him during a security screening.

Santana, whose real name is LaRon James, was going through security at Terminal C around 6 p.m. when agents discovered the firearm, according to reports from NBC4 New York and CBS New York.

According to the reports, Santana fled the security screening and possibly got into a taxi.

A Port Authority spokeswoman was able to confirm that there was an incident at Newark Airport where TSA found an item of concern and the person fled the airport, leaving the item behind. The situation is under investigation.

Santana was arrested in February 2011 when authorities executed a search warrant at his Bergenfield recording studio where they discovered two fully loaded 9 mm handguns, an unspecified number of boxes of ammunition, 17 small clear plastic bags containing suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to an article in The Record.

He was charged with four counts of narcotics and weapons offenses.

The arrest followed a 10 month investigation led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Unit, Bergenfield Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and the Bergen County Police Department.
