If you love attending Georgia Tech events and have spirit to share, consider becoming Buzz or joining the Goldrush Dance Team.
Buzz has been a fixture both at sporting events and throughout the community since the 1980s. Buzz is a member of the cheerleading squad and attends all football games, all home men’s and women’s basketball games, several volleyball and baseball games, and pep rallies and appearances across the state all year long.
All new and recently accepted students, including transfer and first-year students, are eligible for tryouts. (Students must have received acceptance but do not have to be actively enrolled at the time of tryouts.)
Those who are Buzz will be expected to perform their mascot duties from May 1, 2018, through Spring 2019. Auditions will take place Friday, April 13, at the Zelnak Center. More information is available below, and at gtcheer.com/buzz.
The Goldrush Dance Team performs at all home football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball games. The team also travels to select away games and postseason tournaments. Goldrush members will also have the opportunity to represent Georgia Tech at the National Dance Alliance College Nationals.
Goldrush members are expected to balance their technical dance skills along with their academics and extracurricular involvement and to serve as positive role models on campus and in the Atlanta community.
Auditions will take place April 21-22, also at Zelnak, with a prep clinic this week on Friday, March 9. Details are listed below; learn more about the team here.
