Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee is alleging that his 21-year-old son, Brandon Lee, knocked him unconscious in a domestic altercation.
After TMZ published details of the fight in a Monday article claiming that Brandon had been acting in self-defense, Tommy responded on Twitter, saying the story was incorrect and Brandon had actually been the aggressor.
“Hey @TMZ maybe get your facts straight before you go reporting (expletive),” he wrote. “My fiancé and I were in bed when my son busted into the room and assaulted me. I asked him to leave the house and he knocked me unconscious. He ran away from the police. THAT’S the truth.”
Brandon is one of the two children Tommy had with his ex-wife Pamela Anderson, along with 20-year-old Dylan.
Tommy, 55, is currently engaged to Vine star Brittany Furlan, 31, who he claimed was in the room during the assault.
“Violence is NEVER the answer,” Furlan tweeted after the incident, responding to a Twitter user criticizing Tommy Lee. “No matter the situation. People need to learn to talk things out, not throw punches. It’s not necessary and doesn’t solve anything.”
Tommy also posted and quickly deleted a photo of his bloodied mouth on Instagram Monday, captioned with a message for his son, according to Entertainment Tonight and People.
“My heart is broken,” he wrote. “You can give your kids everything they could ever want in their entire lives and they can still turn against you. Good job Brandon! Great son!”
USA TODAY has contacted Tommy Lee’s representatives for comment.
