Great Celebrity Bake Off: Sandi Toksvig SCOLDS Martin Kemp over cake fail 'What is that?'
The celebrity edition of Great British Bake Off aimed to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
BBC Breakfast’s Bill Turnbull, Harry Hill, Roisin Conaty and Martin Kemp went head-to-head as they strived to impress the judges, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
It was Martin who suffered the first blunder, as he accidentally got his mixtures confused.
Sandi, 59, went to see how the former singer was getting along with his bake, when she stopped and yelled: “What the heck is that?”
Martin, 56, admitted: “I’m cooking the buttercream!”
Sandi, clearly horrified, yelled: “Get it out!”
Meanwhile, Harry provided enough teasing and jibed: “There are some fundamental errors but one thing you don’t do is cook the buttercream!”
Viewers were in complete hysterics over the epic blunder and flocked to Twitter to discuss Martin’s mistake.
One wrote: “HE COOKED THE BUTTERCREAM OMLLL.”
A second giggled: “Personal highlight, Martin Kemp putting the buttercream in the oven.”
A third was stunned and added: “Martin Kemp COOKING the buttercream… Nah. I’m dead.”
Another laughed: “Seeing Martin Kemp bake buttercream instead of the cake mixture was TOO funny. Even I wouldn’t do that.”
Viewers were also quick to post their messages of support for Bill, who announced earlier today he is battling an incurable prostate cancer.
Within seconds of the show starting, fans posted their messages of support with one adding: “My heart breaks after hearing #BillTurnbull’s news earlier today and seeing him on #GBBO is just inspiring to see.”
A second added: “Bill Turnbull on stand up to cancer bake off is a bit poignant really.”
The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer continues next Tuesday on Channel 4 at 8pm.
