Celebrities who attend the Academy Awards know that their picture is going to be taken umpteen-thousand times on the red carpet. As much we love to see their final looks, it’s the photos posted by the stars themselves — the behind-the-scenes ones taken as their makeup artists, hairstylists, and aestheticians are getting them ready for the big night — that we get especially psyched to see. It’s at once relatable (because it’s a relief to know it can take a literal team to get a celebrity looking so smokin’) and totally unimaginable (because what the hell is like to have the world’s best beauty pros working on you, sometimes all at once?), and we can’t get enough of them.

Gina Rodriguez gave us a close-up of her glowing skin and nude tones her lips eyes, all a result of Burt’s Bees products.
Viola Davis shared a behind-the-scenes (and behind-the-shoulders) look at her incredible disco curls, created by hairstylist Jamika Wilson.
Haley Bennett’s lived-in-looking blonde bob was styled by Mara Roszak, using Living Proof products. Before keeping everything in place with Style Lab Control Hairspray, “I placed individual flowers throughout the hair,” Roszak said. “This was a such a creative way to tie the hair into the dress and create a whimsical look overall.” And it’s those flowers of which Bennett shared a close-up.
Bennett also took to her Instagram story to share a bit of the facial she got from Joanna Vargas, who’s basically all but the official Oscars facialist, a few hours before the festivities.
Also sharing their beauty prep on their Instagram story: Olympian Lindsey Vonn, who added a Snapchat filter as her hair and makeup were done simultaneously by Laura Polko and Karan Mitchell.
Ashley Judd got the synchronized hair and makeup treatment, too, as shown on her Instagram story, which featured hairstylist Robert Vetica giving her an Elizabeth Taylor-inspired style with Sisley products like Hair Rituel Serum and Precious Hair Care Oil.
Unfortunately, so many of the celebrities we would have loved to see getting ready don’t even have Instagram accounts, but we’re staying glued to their stylists’ and makeup artists’ accounts for sneak peaks.
