Gossip: Arsene Wenger to Everton? Sorry, what?

EVERTON TARGET WENGER
Now this is fun. The back page of the Daily Star claims that Everton are ready to sack Sam Allardyce and appoint Arsene Wenger this summer, if indeed he is sacked by Arsenal. It is one hell of a claim.

According to this report: ‘The under-fire boss is wanted by Everton owner Farhad Moshiri, who feels Wenger is the ideal candidate to revive the Merseyside club’s fortunes.’

You’re not going to get me to say bad things about Arsene Wenger. He’s been a pioneer in The Premier League, but he’s 68 and Arsenal should absolutely be his last job. He can’t be taking a rebuilding job like Everton at his age. With all due respect

For the record, we agree with the above.

TAH FOR SPURS…IF ALDERWEIRELD GOES
Tottenham are reportedly watching German international and Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah (22) with a view to bringing him to north London as a replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who is very likely to leave this summer after stalling on a new contract.

The Mirror say: ‘Any hope Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has of taking the defender on the cheap will be dashed as Leverkusen have just spent a fortune on a teen star from Olympiakos. The Bundesliga club spent £18million on 19-year-old Greek youngster Panagiotis Retsos and will be keen to claw back some of that expenditure.’

The price mentioned is £35m. Which sounds cheap in comparison to Davinson Sanchez.

NEYMAR GOING NEYWHERE
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Antero Henrique has denied reports that Neymar could bugger off to Real Madrid. The Brazilian completed a world-record £200m move to Paris last summer, but rumours persist that he wants to move back to Spain.

“Obviously he’s going to stay with PSG next season,” Henrique told L’Equipe. “His father said that two or three days ago: he’s happy in Paris. His project is to stay here. He’s here to play and score goals. The Spanish aren’t like the French, they’re against PSG. For them, we’re now rivals. Spanish journalists have spoken to guys who say that Neymar isn’t happy, good…have you asked Cristiano Ronaldo if he’s happy at Real Madrid?”
